Pastor/Director of Youth & Music

Job Overview:  This position is for a combined Youth and Worship Pastor/Director, with an additional duty of Sound & Media Manager.

As Youth Pastor/Director (60%—70% of time), this role will oversee the development and implementation of all activity and discipleship processes within the Youth Ministry (YM) at The Little White Church (LWC), for youth 6th through 12th grades. As Worship Pastor/Director (30%-40% of time), this role will oversee the music and worship ministry of LWC, including leading and /or assignment of the leading for all praise & worship music selections, and be responsible for the spoken parts of the praise & worship service, such as choosing readings from the Bible or leading the congregation in their praise of God. With the Additional Duty as Sound and Media Manager overseeing the weekly functions/operations of sound and media.

Type: Full-time 40+ hrs./week

Reports to: Lead Pastor

Responsibilities as Youth Pastor/Director

- Aid the Pastoral Staff and Board of Elders in the implementation of the LWC mission and vision

- Take the lead in planning, leading, and providing oversight to Youth activities, outreach, and education in all YM spiritual growth processes from 6th – 12th grade.
- Recruit, develop, and train all volunteers, adult, and student leaders into various YM ministry roles
- Effectively implements processes necessary for effective YM, to include check-in, follow-up, and outreach procedures
- Provide pastoral care, counseling, and visitation for students
- Demonstrates an infectious passion for youth ministry and worship seeing parents, youth, and congregants grow in the faith, praise, and worship, while partnering with God to move people through their respective stages of spiritual growth
-Embraces the mission, vision, values, statement of faith, and Bylaws of LWC
-Spends responsibly from the annual YM and worship budgets

Responsibilities as Worship Pastor/Director:

- Works with the Lead Pastor in planning creative worship services that are inspiring and engaging, encouraging the church body to pour out God’s grace to all so that all who worship may grow in His grace
- Leads and coordinates all music for Sunday morning praise & worship services, Wednesday night youth band and occasional special services or prayer meetings
- Develop and lead a traditional/modern mixed praise & worship service (i.e., upbeat hymns and contemporary worship music), to include selecting music, pulling lead sheets for praise & worship team, inputting songs into slide projection program, and filing of music sheets
- Responsible for maintaining quality control in all musical/artistic issues relating to the ministry of LWC
- Responsible for recruiting new musicians and vocalists, creating Planning Center schedules, and leading rehearsals
- Ensures that the praise & worship music is current and theologically sound
- Provide spiritual oversight and leadership to the praise & worship team members, especially regarding the teaching of Biblical worship principles, and the selection and delivery of biblical reading during worship

Additional Duty Responsibilities as Sound and Media Manager:

- Responsible for scheduling through Planning Center all sound board and media personnel for Sunday morning services and for all tracking and logging necessary for CCLI license requirements.
- Create and maintain a sound and media team equipping them through training
- Coordinates sound and media strategies and budget with the Lead Pastor and Elders.

Education/Qualifications/Experience Requirements

- Bachelor’s or Associate’s ministry degree welcomed, and experience valued.  Applicants may apply with no degree but we appreciate a willingness to further ministry education.
- Exhibits spiritual maturity, grounded in God’s Word, that reflects good judgment, honesty, integrity, responsibility, and punctuality in his/her daily walk
- 2-3 years of current experience with a healthy mix in YM, leading corporate praise & worship and/or sound and media
- Organizational ability to effectively manage, develop, and grow a church student ministry and music ministry.
- Skilled as a musician, who can passionately lead worship and have the ability to learn and develop sound and media skills as needed.

  2. Must be theologically sound and have a thorough knowledge of the Scriptures.

  3. Personal integrity, humility, and self-motivated.

  4. Ability to plan, organize and facilitate youth functions.

  5. Great attitude and a positive influence on young people.

  6. Mature, responsible and has a teachable spirit.

  7. Capable of recognizing needs and taking initiative to respond.
